Lakers Season is Done

Geez.  For the first time in 13 seasons, the Lakers finish with a worse record than the Clippers.  I'm not hating on the Clippers, because I love them too, but this has always been a Lakers town.  Btw, the Clippers get no love nationally.  If Elton Brand was a, Piston, for example, he would be a prerennial all-star.  Also, Shawn Livingston will soon be one in a couple of years.  Anyway, back to the Lakers.  Our best hope, is to get Phil J back or try to acquire Larry Brown to get him to shape up our horrible freegin defense.  From what I've heard, we won't see player changes until 2007, and that saddens me.  Who the heck would want to pick up stankin Brian Grant's ridiculous contract?  I hope for as many lottery balls as we can scrounge up.

Pat and me at Staples this past Sunday vs. the Mavericks.  Man, that was one hard game to watch.  Sloppy shot attempts mixed with some lousy defense made for an ascerbic taste in my mouth.  Thanks to Newblander Marky Mark for the tickets.

But, the DODGERS are rolling...

It's fitting that this is their 50 year anniversary of their first World Series Championship back in Brooklyn.  They are off to their hottest start and their level of energy is awesome.  Where are all the Depodesta haters now? (not that I really support him either).  But, he is really lucking out so far with the controversial changes he made over the summer.  However, I'm not going to get all googly-eyed and think they will automatically win the whole thing with this start.  Last year, the Cardinals had the best record and were shalacked by the hot Red Sox.  And, I clearly remember a few years when the Angels had a 15 game lead in the West with a month and a half to play.  They choked and missed the playoffs.  There's still a looooonng 162 game season to be played.  Still, it doesn't mean I can't be hopeful.  DODGERS 2005 World Series Champs (4-2 over the Minnesota Twins)

Who wants to watch a movie?? I haven't seen one in awhile...

Snob Appeal

Some people know so much about one thing they look down on those who aren’t so knowledgeable.  They are snobs.  There are wine snobs, art snobs, literary, fashion, food, even money snobs.  “I can change the world,” the politician boasts.  “But he can’t even change a tire,” the garage mechanic sneers.  Both are snobs because they look down on those who don’t share their special interests.  If you’re sure you know more about haute cuisine than your dinner partner, remember she may know more about 19th century architecture.  Don’t let your knowledge turn you into a snob.  Find out what the other guy knows, before you show off what you know.
